Weekly Meal Planning
Since sunday is the only day working women are free, it is better to cut or sort vegetables required for the rest of the week. It takes a lot of time to cut ladysfinger. It is better to cut them beforehand when we have time, put them in an air tight container and store it in the fridge. Similarly, cut off ends of cluster beans and cut them into small pieces. We use green chillies in almost every day in curries, upma etc. Chop green chillies and store it in a container. Grate carrots. This could be used in cutlets, sandwiches, parotas and other such items. We'll need carrot pieces for upma and vegetable biryanis. Cut carrots also when you find time. Cut capsicum into pieces. Put these vegetables in air tight containers and store them in the fridge. This will save time. Peel garlic cloves. You can do this by putting them in a jar and shaking them vigorously. This will seperate the peel from garlic cloves. Store them in a zip-lock bag or a container and put them in the fridge. Cut drumstick into pieces, put them in a container. Dry them on a kitchen towel. We've already seen how to store leafy vegetables. Link will be in the description. We can also make idli and dosa batter and strore them in the fridge by putting them in air tight containers. We can use them for upto 15 days. Don't add salt while grinding the batters. I generally soak dal, rice on saturday night and grind them on sunday morning. Use air tight continers or the batter will ferment. When you're making idli or dosa, take required amount of batter in a bowl, add water, salt and mix. We'll need chutney also for the tiffins. We can make chutney on a holiday and use it when required by just adding some water and tempering. We can use this chutney for upto 3-4 days.
