Aaron's China Guide E27 - 兰州牛肉面 - Lanzhou noodles with beef | Aaron Sawich

Aaron's China Guide is doing another theme month about food at Muslim restaurants in China. Their signature dish is Lanzhou niu rou mian 兰州牛肉面 which means Lanzhou noodles with beef. This comes from the city of Lanzhou 兰州 in Gansu province. The type of noodles used for this are called la mian 拉面. La 拉 in Chinese means pull and mian 面 means noodles to this literally translates to pulled noodles. A ball of dough is pulled repeatedly from both sides to create many strings of dough that are boiled into noodles. Slices of beef and hand-pulled noodles in a delicious tasting broth. You may know la mian 拉面 by the Japanese name, which is ramen. A must try in China. I hope you enjoy my Chinese food eating video.
