Aloo Pops | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

ALOO POPS - (Serves - 4)

Ingredients

3 medium potatoes (aloo), boiled and peeled
2 fresh jalapenos, finely chopped
Salt to taste
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
50 grams red cheddar, cut into small cubes
Oil for deep-frying
1 egg
¼ cup cornflour
½ cup panko breadcrumbs
Fruit beer for serving

Method

1. Take potatoes in a shallow plate and mash. Add jalapenos, salt and crushed peppercorns and mix well.
2. Divide the mixture into equal portions. Take each portion, flatten them, place 1-2 cheese cubes in the center and shape into balls.
3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
4. Beat an egg in a shallow plate. Take cornflour on a plate and spread breadcrumbs in a bowl.
5. Coat each potato ball with cornflour, dip in egg and coat with breadcrumbs.
6. Deep-fry the balls in hot oil till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
7. Serve hot with fruit beer.
