APRICOT TIDBITS; A DELICATE APPETISER

FULL RECIPE FOR APRICOT TIDBITS
Ingredients:
30 dry apricots
1 cups of water
cup crystal sugar
4-5 cloves
4-5 tbsp sliced almond or pistachio

For serving:
3-4 tsp apricot liqueur
100 g whipped cream or ice cream or kaymak

Directions

Wash the dried apricots and place into a medium-sized bowl
Pour 1 cups of water over the apricots and rest for 3 to 4 hours

COOKING
After 3-4 hours, pour the apricot/water mixture into a medium-sized pot and put it on a stove that is set to medium heat.
Add the sugar, cloves and bring to boil; then cover with a lid and cook for 30 minutes on medium-low heat until the apricots become soft
Take out the apricots and reduce the syrup for 5 to 7 minutes.
Cool down the apricots and the syrup to room temperature

Cut partway into each apricot and stuff with the almond slices or pistachio kernels
Arrange the stuffed apricots in rows into a serving plate

SERVING
Combine the apricot liqueur with the syrup and drizzle it over the stuffed apricots. Enrich the flavour by adding whipped cream or ice-cream or kaymak
