INGREDIENTS
1. Ridge Gourd - 1/4 Kg
2. Green Gram - 1/2 Cup
3. Onion - 1
4. Green Chillies - 5
5. Ginger Garlic Paste - 1/2 Teaspoon
6. Turmeric Powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
7. Salt - 1 1/2 Teaspoon
8. Cumin Seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
9. Curry Leaves - 1/2 Cup

Wash and soak green gram for 1/2 hour. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pan. Add 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, chopped onions and fry. As onions turn transparent, add chopped green chillies and fry. Add curry leaves and fry. Add 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste and mix. Fry. Add diced ridge gourd and fry. Close the lid and let ridge gourd pieces cook for 5-10 minutes on low flame. Add soaked green gram and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add 1 1/2 teaspoon salt and salt to taste. Add 1 cup water and mix. Close the lid and cook till green gram becomes soft. Add coriander leaves and cut off the stove. Serve hot.
