Naan is mostly made with all-purpose flour/maida and baked in oven or Tandoor in restaurant Naan is a main course menu. But, a pan or a griddle is enough to make a Naan and one can enjoy a restaurant delicacy in one’s own kitchen is what I want to emphasize.

Whole Wheat flour Naan

Ingredients:

Whole Wheat flour - 4 cups

Dry active yeast - 1 ½ tsps

Sugar - 5 tsps

Curds - 2 tbsp

Salt - ¼ TSP

Oil - few tsps

Coriander leaves/kasoori methi - as required

Kashmiri chilli powder/any spice powder as per taste

Method:

In a small bowl, add the yeast and sugar

Add ¼ of lukewarm water to the yeast and sugar

Add a pinch of salt and mix

Leave closed for 15 mins or so or till frothy

Now take a big bowl and add the 4 cups of whole wheat flour

To it add the yeast mix and start kneading

Add the curds too

Keep kneading, adding some water to make a soft dough

Allow the Naan dough to rest for an hour or till it doubles

Knock out the air and knead lightly again and divide I to roundels

Allow the roundels to rest for 10 mins ,- they would rise a little

Dust each roundel in flour and roll out into desired shapes

Wet the top of the naan with water and sprinkle some herbs on top

Heat a thick pan or iron griddle

Slid the Naan and toast over medium flame till golden spots appear on both sides

Enjoy the melting Whole Wheat flour Naan with any Curry like Chole or Malai Kofta
