Best Putien Dishes Heng Hua Lor Mee Singapore Ming Chung Restaurant Jalan Besar

Hi everyone, welcome to Lisa and Tricia Singapore Foodie TV. Im Tricia. Have you been not been dining outside for the past few months due to the Covid 19 virus? Life still goes on and you need to enjoy your life while you can. Do you Putien dishes? Or find the price of dinning in Putein restaurant too costly. My friend, brother of Mosses lim has a good recommendation for affordable Putein Henghua dishes in Jalan Besar. Henghua is a minority Chinese dialect of the immigrants from Putian in Fujian province. The restaurant that we are going in is called Ming Chung. Ming Chung restaurant has a long history. It was started by Ho Ah Tong, a migrant from Putien in Fujian China. The nearest MRT is the Jalan Besar. It is about 10-15 mins walk from the train Station. There is a big sign board of brief history of how Ming Ching restaurant started. There are some photographs on the wall. Can you recognise anyone? If yes, you can comment below. Lets take a look at what they have to offer? Of cos their signature is the Lor mee. My friend recommended Batang Fish. Putein restaurant also has offers Batang fish in its menu. They have quite a number of main course like Mee sua, Bee hoon and rice. If you like rice, you can order dishes to go with it too, like the fried chicken, soup or vegetables. There is a button to order. But the waitress will come to you and you can take the order on a piece of paper provided. This chilli sauce tastes good, not so spicy. It has lime in it. This plate is the small fried mee. It costs only $5. I thought it would be like the traditional hokkien mee sticky and tastes of dark soya sauce. To my surprise, it tastes more like the putien lor mee. It is worth a try and the taste is authentic to this restaurant. For the price of $5, it has squid, lala, and prawns. We ordered the hei chou, prawn fritter. It is quite soft and you can dip it with the sweet sauce or the chilli sauce. Here comes the signature lor mee which also cost $5. Between the Fried Mee and Lor mee, I would prefer the Fried Mee.
