Chef Matt shows Jason his recipe for a healthy snack of baked Brussel sprout chips. You wont have any problems getting the kids to eat their Brussel sprouts when you prepare them this way!

What are you going to mix up here Matt? All right, so we're what we're doing is we're making brussel sprout chips, a healthy snack courtesy of my buddy Michael down the street. We're going to make, basically, potato chips that are healthy. We're going to be chopping up the brussel sprouts into individual leaves. We're going to put in some salt, garlic powder, little bit of mustard seed and olive oil. Toss it all up, put it in the oven; crispy snacks. Nice. Beautiful. You just got to cut them. Yeah, just cut the ends off. Just make leaves, one at a time.
Take these little guys. What do you do with these, just throw them out? When you get bored, you just throw it out. These are the best ones. Nice leafy greens. I like it. Yeah, I like being creative. Something different people don't have. And you know, no one dares to bring brussel sprouts to a party. Now, I've had people bring brussel sprouts to some of my parties, and well, they just sat there.
We're going to make the seasoning, but I like to mix it all in one little bowl. Okay. You can put anything you want. You can put chili powder, or you can put paprika, whatever you want. One of my favorite spices is cinnamon. I almost put cinnamon in almost anything, but that's probably because I'm Greek.
But what I don't do is put pepper in it, mainly because the kids don't like the pepper. You stir it all around, then start putting some oil in, because if you put all the oil in at once, the salt will stick to it. You don't want to put it in first, but drizzle some oil. Yeah. Now, you see, if you start feeling the salt, you know you put too much in. Really? If you're going to a party, right, you can make these ahead of time, stick them in a bag overnight? That's right. Doesn't matter how long? And will they get wilted? No. And not like lettuce, right? Lettuce would just like ...
Great, so we can make this ahead of time, bring them over to the house and impress your friends. Sprinkle a little more for luck. Yeah sure, a little love. Get it on a cookie sheet, spread them out as much as you can. How hot you got your oven going here? I got it at 400. Okay. And obviously, we can flip it to broil in the end, but we just want to bake it for a while. How long? Five minutes or so? It's probably closer to 10. All right.
Those look good. Yeah, look at that. What do you think, snip snap? That's snip snapping good, isn't it? Tasty. Yeah. Your kids don't like them either, right? Clearly, I can tell she doesn't like it at all. If Grandma only knew.
