Chana halwa

Ingredients quantity

Soaked boiled Kabuli chana 2 cup
Desi ghee 3-4 tbsp
Raisins 1 tbsp
Water 2 Cup
Jaggery 1cup
Elachi powder 1tsp
Nutmeg powder 1tsp
Almonds 10-12no.
Cashew nuts 10-12no.

Method

1. Soak and boil the Kabuli chana overnight and grind it in the mixing jar.
2. Make a paste from the chana.
3. In a kadai add desi ghee, and fry the raisins, once it is done remove it from the flame and keep aside.
4. Now in the same ghee add the chana paste and keep mixing it for 20 -25 mins, it should turn brown in color.
5. In another pan add water, jaggery, elachi powder, and nutmeg powder and let it boil till the jaggery melts properly.
6. Occasionally keep mixing the paste in the kadai.
7. Now add almonds, cashew nuts and mix it properly.
8. Once there is a boil in the water, add the syrup in the halwa and let it cook for 5 mins.
9. Once it is done add fried raisins and mix it properly.
10. It’s ready to serve.

Tips
• Do not eat when it too hot, let it cool down a bit
• Keep mixing the halwa continuously when the ghee starts separating from it.
