Chew Kee Eating House () 8 Upper Cross Street

Currently run by the third generation, Chew Kee Eating House has satisfied the taste buds of its loyal customers since its establishment by Mr Yu Beng Chew in 1949. The stall has been at 8 Upper Cross Street for more than 70 years.

The second generation, Mdm Yu Lye Kuan, started getting involved in the business after finishing secondary school, and eventually took over the business in 1980s. She later passed down the business to her son, the third generation, who has already been involved for around 10 years.

Their signature soy sauce braised chicken sticks to the original recipe. Noodles are cooked to al dente, and drizzled with dark soy sauce. Topped with thick slices of tender chicken and vegetables, the fusion is authentic. Sui Kow (dumplings) have meaty fillings with a turnip crunch. Another favourite is their chicken feet soup stewed with mushrooms. The chicken feet is mildly flavoured, and so soft that it almost falls apart after slipping into your mouth.

Note: Coined after the last word of Mr Yu Beng Chew's name, the eatery's name '' is read as '' (zho).
