Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies | Glen And Friends Cooking

This Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe holds fairly true to that recipe you used to find on the chocolate chip bag here in Canada - and probably in the U.S. as well. These chocolate chip cookies are dense and chewy in the centre and crisp around the edges. Pretty close to the classic tollhouse chocolate chip cookie. Some would say the perfect chocolate chip cookie.

Ingredients
1 cup (250 mL) butter, softened
1 cup (250 mL) packed brown sugar
½ cup (125 mL) granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 Tbsp (15 mL) vanilla
2⅓ cups (575 mL) AP flour
1 tsp (5 mL) baking soda
½ tsp (2 mL) salt
2 cups (500 mL) semisweet chocolate chips

Method
Pre-heat your oven to 350ºF
In bowl, cream together butter & sugars until fluffy.
Beat in eggs, 1 at a time; beat in vanilla.
Whisk together flour, baking soda and salt; stir into butter mixture.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop by rounded 1 Tbsp onto baking sheets.
Bake in 350°F (180°C) oven until edges are golden, 8 to 10 minutes. Let cool on baking pan on a cooling rack for 5 minutes; then transfer to racks and cool completely.
