DIY Birthday Number Cakes Makes 1 sheet cake OR 2 square cakes OR 2 round cakes OR 2 Bundt cakesINGREDIENTSFor the cake:3 cups SASKO Cake Wheat Flour1 cups granulated sugar1 tsp baking powder1 tsp salt4 large eggs1 cup milk cup oil1 tbsp vanilla essenceBasic buttercream icing:1 block butter (500g)6 cups icing sugar2 tsp vanilla essenceFood colouringMETHOD1. Preheat the oven to 180C and grease your cake tins. *Chefs Tip: Reference the pictures below to decide which shapes you need for the number you wish to create. 2. Sieve the flour and combine with the sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. 3. Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla essence and mix with an electric hand mixer on medium speed until smooth.4. Divide the batter between the baking tins and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a skewer comes out clean, the cake is lightly browned and springs back when pressed with a finger.5. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before unmoulding onto a wire rack and allowing it to rest until completely cool.6.
