They are rich in antioxidants and many other nutrients like Vitamin C, B6 and iron.Leaves will be little bit sour which kids might not like it. To enhance the taste we can add curry leaves powder, or parupu podi (Dal powder).You can prepare it in under 30 minutes..Ingredients:Oil/Ghee- 2 teaspoonMustard seeds- 1 teaspoonUraddal- 1 teaspoonChanna dal- 1 teaspoonRed chillies-2Jeera-1 teaspoonOnion-1Drumstick leaves- 2 cupsTurmeric powder-1/4 teaspoonSalt-3/4 teaspoonCooked rice- 2 cupsCurryleaves powder-2 tablespoonsGhee- 1 teaspoonDirections:1. Heat 2 tsp oil or ghee. Add mustard seeds. When it starts to splutter, add uraddal, channadal, jeera and red chillies.Wait till dal turns golden brown.2. Add onion and sauté until translucent.3. Add drumstick leaves, turmeric powder and salt. Sauté until leaves has become soft.4. Switch off the flame.5. Add cooked rice, curry leaves powder and ghee. Mix it well.6. This goes well with inion tomato thokku.
