Ghujiya, a century old dish that dates back to the 13th century, stuffed with dates and walnuts is a crispy delight that should definitely be a part of your Diwali menu!DATE AND NUT WONTON GUJIYAIngredients:¼ cup pistachios, chopped¼ cup almonds, chopped¼ cup walnuts, chopped¼ cup desiccatedcoconut½ tbsp ppoppy seeds 5-6 dates, seeded and chopped½ tsp green cardamom powder7-8 wonton sheetsRefined flour slurry as requiredOil for deep fryingRabri to servePistachios, blanched and slivered for garnishSilver warq for garnishMethod:1. Take pistachios in a bowl. Add almonds, walnuts,desiccatedcoconut, poppy seeds, dates and green cardamom powder. Mash the mixture with the back of a spoon and mix well.2. Take wanton sheets on a worktop.Place spoons of mixture in centre. Apply refined flour slurry on edges. Fold the sheets into halves and seal the edges, press the edges with a fork to create a pattern.3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, deep fry the wontons until golden and crisp.
