Fish Curry

Preparation time : 10 mins

Serving : 4 pax

Ingredients Quantity

Garlic 8-10 pods + 6 - 7 nos
Ginger 1 inch
Coconut slices 1 nos
Red chilli soaked 6-7 nos
Water as required
Oil 2-3 tbsp
Ajwain 1 tsp
Fenugreek seed ½ tsp
Mustard seed ½ tsp
Green chilli 3 nos
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Tamarind water ¼ cup
Curry leaves 4-5 nos
Coconut milk 1 cup
Ravas Fish slice 4 nos
Coriander sprig for garnish

Method :
1. On a small grinding stone , add garlic pods and crush it and transfer it to bigger garinding stone .
2. Now add ginger on smaller grinding stone , crush it and transfer it to bigger grinding stone .
3. Now crush the coconut slice on smaller grinding stone and transfer it to bigger grinding stone .
4. Now make a fine paste of the crushed mixture on the grinding stone .
5. Now add soaked red chilli and crush and make a paste along with coconut mixture , add water alternatively as required .
6. Now clean the the stone , remove the mixture stuck over it , keep the water aside .
7. Heat a kadhai , add oil , ajwain , fenugreek seed , mustard seed allow it to splutter .
8. Meanwhile crush the garlic pods in grinding stone , add it into the kadhai , sauté it .
9. Now crush the green chilli add it into the oil , sauté the mixture well for 1 min .
10. Now add the coconut chilli paste and sauté it well for 2-3 mins until oil comes up .
11. Now add the water stir well for 30 seconds .
12. Now add salt , turmeric powder , mix it well , bring to boil .
13. In a bowl , add water , soaked tamarind and crush it nicely until juice is extracted from it .
14. Now add tamarind water into the curry , mix it well and allow it to cook 15. Now add curry leaves , coconut milk , mix it well for 2 mins .
16. Now add fish slice and allow it to cook for 10 mins on a low flame .
17. Once fish curry reaches its required consistency , transfer it in a serving bowl , garnish with coriander sprig .
18. Serve hot along with rice .
