A popular gujurati snack that is an amazingly delicious tea time snack! FULWADIIngredients1½ cups gram flour (besan)½ cup whole wheat flour (atta) 2 tbsps semolina (rawa)½ tsp dry fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi), roasted¼ tsp turmeric powder1 tsp red chilli powder¼ tsp garam masala powder½ tsp cumin powder½ tsp coriander powderSalt to taste1 tsp of sugarA pinch of crushed black peppercorns2 tbsps white sesame seeds + for sprinkling½ tsp dry mango powder (amchur)2 tsps oil + for deep fryingTea to serveMethod1. Take gram flour in a large bowl, add whole wheat flour, semolina, crush dry fenugreek leaves and add. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, sugar, crushed black peppercorns, white sesame seeds, 2 tsps oil and ½ cup water and knead to a stiff dough. Cover and set the dough aside for 5 minutes.2. Take a portion of the dough and roll into a long and thin log of ½ inch diameter, sprinkle white sesame seeds and roll again. Cut into 1 inch pieces and shape into cylinders. 3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, slide in a few dough cylinders and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper and arrange on a serving plate.4. Serve with hot tea.
