Ginger Tea Recipe
Ingredients:
1 Tbsp. of fresh ginger, rinsed, peeled (optional), thinly sliced
8 oz water
2 Tbsp. fresh orange juice,
2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1 heaping Tbsp. date paste or 2 tsp. Maple syrup or to taste.
2 - 3 leaves of fresh basil

Directions:
Place the water into a saucepan and add the the finely sliced and chopped ginger along with the orange and lemon juice. Add your sweetener of choice and the fresh basil.

Bring the tea to just a boil and then simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain the tea into a mug and enjoy!

Tips:
If you want to add the sweetener, especially if using the date paste, at the end after you strain the tea, that is fine. You will get more of the actual fruit in the tea but it will be more cloudy.

How To Store Ginger:
Place whole pieces in a zip loc bag and remove the air before zipping close. Place in a crisper drawer for up to 1 month. If you are going to use the ginger right away, you can leave it out on the counter for up to a week.

Ginger is anti-inflammatory, immune boosting, helps with digestion, helps with nausea, and is an antioxidant. The lemon and orange helps provide vitamin C to your diet as well. If you are on blood thinners, check with your doctor before using ginger. This is a great way to boost your immune system naturally.
