Green Chilli Chicken | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Green Chilli chicken is a fresh-flavored, spicy recipe which can be cooked in minutes, making it simple, yet flavourful.

GREEN CHILLI CHICKEN

Ingredients

400 grams boneless chicken leg, cut into 1½ inch pieces
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
2 green chillies, slit
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
½ teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
Green chilli for garnishing
Fresh coriander sprig for garnishing
Green chilli paste
½ medium bunch fresh coriander leaves
3-4 green chillies
6-7 garlic cloves
½ inch ginger, roughly chopped
1 medium onion, roughly chopped

Method

1. To prepare green chilli paste, grind together garlic cloves, ginger, onion, green chillies and coriander leaves alongwith some water into smooth and semi-thick paste.
2. Put chicken pieces in a bowl. Add salt and green chilli paste and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 30-45 minutes.
3. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and sauté till it changes colour. Add green chillies and sauté for 30 seconds.
4. Add turmeric powder and sauté for 30 seconds. Add cumin powder, coriander powder and sauté for 30 seconds.
5. Add marinated chicken pieces, mix and cook for 2 minutes. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes.
6. Add garam masala powder and adjust salt, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes.
7. Serve hot garnished with green chilli and coriander sprig.
