GREEN MOONG PORIYAL

Ingredients

¾ cup whole green moong, soaked and boiled
2 tbsps oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp split skinless black gram
1 tsp Bengal gram
1 tsp cumin seeds
¼ tsp asafoetida
5-6 curry leaves
1-2 green chillies, chopped
1-2 dried red chillies
1 medium onion, finely chopped
Salt to taste
½ tsp Tata Sampann Turmeric Powder
½ cup scraped fresh coconut
2 tbsps chopped fresh coriander leaves

Method

1. Heat oil in a nonstick pan, add mustard seeds and once they splutter, add split skinless black gram, Bengal gram, cook till golden brown in colour.
2. Add cumin seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves, green chillies, dried red chilli, onions and salt, and cook till onions are translucent.
3. Add Tata Sampann Turmeric Powder, adjust salt, green moong, scrapped coconut and coriander leaves, mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
4. Serve hot.
