Grilled Ham and Cheese On Sourdough Bread by Rockin Robin

This is no ordinary grilled ham and cheese sandwich. This one has fresh basil, tomato and it's grilled with butter. I'll show you how to cook it so that the ingredients are hot and the cheese is melted, while the bread is a crispy golden brown. So delicious!

Grilled Ham And Cheese Sandwich

For 2 Sandwiches:
4 slices of sourdough sliced french bread
8 slices of swiss cheese
8 slices Black Forest ham
1 roma tomato cut into 4 slices
fresh basil leaves, enough to cover sandwich
real organic butter, softened

Directions:
Start by laying 2 slices of swiss on a slice of bread, then the ham, basil leaves, tomato and finish with 2 more slices of cheese.

Place a slice of bread on top.

Preheat an indoor grill pan over low heat.

Butter one side of each sandwich and place butter side down onto the grill pan.

Cover the sandwiches with either a lid or foil to keep the heat in. Cook for about 8 minutes or until the bottom layer of cheese melts and the grilled side is golden brown.

Right before you turn the sandwiches over, spread more butter, generously on the second side.

Cover and cook the sandwiches for an additional 6 minutes or until the cheese in completely melted and the bread is a beautiful golden brown.

Enjoy as a lunch, dinner, or heck, even breakfast.
