Healthy Dessert Recipe Kids Love: Dessert Hummus (3 Ways!)

Have you tried the "dessert hummus" you've seen in Aldi and other places? Did you know it's EASY and INEXPENSIVE to make at home!?!

Today's daily video for your time at home is a super fun snack or dessert made from pantry staples. One of Leah's favorite treats right now, we have three kinds of dairy-free dessert hummus and will demonstrate the chocolate chip cookie dough version, with all possible substitutions so you can make it no matter what you have at home.

This is a great recipe for kids of any age to help, because it's so simple and forgiving... You don't have to measure everything perfectly.

And if you fear kids might not like the name "hummus" when it comes to dessert, just call it edible cookie dough or a cookie dough dip.

I am never an advocate of hiding vegetables to the point of lying to our kids though... It's all about getting them involved so they aren't afraid of the beans and hopefully seeing our kids enjoy creates a little positive peer pressure.

Here are the links to the three we are making today:

And HA, my poor brain, I forgot to include some of the swaps in case you don't have all the ingredients!

* canned or dry beans, chickpeas OR any white bean works!
* maple syrup or honey or even sugar if that's all you have
* we guessed any soft nut in place of cashews if necessary, like walnuts, or even nut butter (use a bit less than 1/4 cup if butter)
* the 2nd and 3rd recipe could be made in a blender if you don't have a food processor

Any other ideas for us? Do share!
