HONEY BUTTERMILK BISCUITS Ingredients454 grams refined flour (maida)243 ml buttermilk, chilled2 tablespoons castor sugar1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon baking powder2 teaspoons salt1 tablespoon honey227 butter, chopped and chilled Milk for brushing Coarse sea salt for topping Raspberry jam as required Method1. Preheat oven at 200̊ C. Line a baking tray with a 2. Sift together flour, castor sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Mix.3. Whisk together honey and buttermilk in another bowl. Ensure that there are no lumps and refrigerate to chill. 4. Grate butter in the flour mixture and mix till the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. 5. Add buttermilk mixture and mix till well incorporated. Transfer on a worktop and flatten it into a thick sheet.6. Cut out portions using a medium size cookie cutter and place them on the lined tray. Brush some milk and top with sea salt. 7. Put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. Remove from oven and cool. 8. Halve horizontally and apply some jam on the base halves. Cover with the remaining halves and serve.
