How to Make Chimichangas

Chimichangas are a traditional Mexican dish that consists of a fried burrito that is essentially filled with meat and/or other fixings, rolled into a cylindrical shape, wrapped in aluminum foil or pinned with a toothpick (to hold it together) and then the whole thing is deep-fried. Chimichanga recipes can vary widely both regionally and culturally. Some use beef, others chicken and some use shredded pork. Others still make vegetarian chimichangas packed full of vegetables like zucchini and potatoes. Sometimes they're served topped with guacamole or sour cream or salsa. This recipe originated from Northern Mexico but has spread to become popular all over North America.
