Making homemade ice cream at home is so much fun and so much better for you because they put all kinds of unnecessary things in store bought ice cream.

Have you read the labels lately on a carton of ice cream? You find things like carrageenan, artificial colors and flavors.

When you make ice cream from scratch, you know exactly whats in it and in this particular recipe, well, here are the ingredients. Most of which are organic.

Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups of bananas (4 or 5 bananas)
2 cups of heavy cream, organic
2 cups of half and half, (which is 1/2 whole milk and 1/2 light cream)
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3 egg yolks
dash of salt

Like I said, making ice cream is fun especially with kids. They get a big kick out of watching is churn and of course eating it.

This recipe has such nice banana flavor and if you want you can even add chopped walnuts to this recipe. Just drop them in during the last minute of churning or so.

I like to store my ice cream in glass containers with a tight fitting lid. If you eat this right after churning is nice and soft which is awesome. I have a very cold freezer so it get's really hard.

If that happens to you, just let the ice cream sit out on the counter for 5 or 10 minutes and it will be much easier to scoop out.

Thanks for watching!
