St. Louis Gooey Butter cakeKyler and I saw a picture of St. Louis Gooey Butter cake on the Web one day and she immediately wanted to try making it. Baking is something we don't do much of, however we had fun creating some memories while we made this. I can see with a little practice we can make it better. And what I mean is I think it can get more of that gooeyness. Nonetheless, for us, it's all about creating memories in the kitchen surrounded by home cooked smells and tasting flavors as we go. The ingredients used in St. Louis Gooey Butter Cake are as follows. cake2 1/2 cups A.P. flour2 tsp baking powder1/2 tsp kosher salt1/2 cup butter (1 stick)1 1/2 cups granulated sugar1 egg1/4 cup milk1 tablespoon vanilla extracttopping8oz. cream cheese1/2 cup butter2 cups powdered sugar2 eggs1 teaspoon vanilla extractpreheat oven to 350 degrees Fin a mixing bowl add flour, baking powder, salt. set aside. In a separate bowl, add milk, butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla. Add the flour mixture 1/3 at a time, and continue to mix. in a greased baking pan, pour in mixture.time for the top layer. in a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and butter and mix till fluffy. Add the powdered sugar. mix. add the eggs and vanilla. Pour mixture over the cake layer. Bake for about 50-55 minutes or until it jiggles slightly. Let cool and then add powdered sugar to the top.
