Once hot add the onion, celery, bell pepper and carrots. Saute for 10 minutes stirring frequently.Add the minced garlic and saute for 1 minute longer. Add this mixture to a stock pot. Add all the other ingredients to the stock pot except the chard and then bring the soup to a boil and lower the temperature to simmer, covered for 10 minutes.Then add the chard and simmer covered for an additional 2 to 3 minutes. 2 Flavor Tips:1.
