How To Open A Coconut: Classy Cookin' with Chef Stef

These thoughts seriously crossed my mind after I bought my first coconut. How are you supposed to get it open?! And then when you do... what do you do with it? Haha! The real way to do it is to poke a hole through one of the three eyes using a hammer and screwdriver, but hey, I think I discovered the easiest option! The corkscrew wine opener worked like magic! Drain out the milk. Then crack it open with a hammer. To separate it from its shell, put it in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. It will come right out. You can shred it to make coconut shavings for desserts, yogurt, chicken, etc. Read my blog for more exciting things to do with coconut!!
