1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground clove
1/2 cup (113 grams) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
1/2 cup (106 grams) dark brown sugar
1/4 cup (60 milliliters) golden syrup or molasses
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Icing
1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
