Idli Shashlik | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Mini idlis lined up with onion and capsicum cubes to make this interesting quick and easy cocktail starter.

IDLI SHASHLIK - (Serves - 4)

Ingredients

8 readymade steamed idlis
2 teaspoons butter
1 teaspoon molaga podi powder
1 medium onion, cut into cubes and layers separated
1 medium green capsicum, cut into cubes
Salt to taste
Green chutney as required

Method

1. Trim 2 opposite sides of each idli and cut into 4 equal pieces.
2. Heat 1 teaspoon butter in a non-stick pan. Add idli pieces and sauté for 30 seconds. Add molaga podi powder, mix and cook for 1 minute.
3. Heat remaining butter in a non-stick pan. Add onion and sauté for 1 minute. Add capsicum and mix.
4. Add salt and sauté for 30 seconds. Remove from heat and cool.
5. Skewer one capsicum cube, one onion cube and one idli piece alternatively onto satay sticks till all the ingredients are used.
6. Put some chutney in individual short glasses. Place one skewer in each and serve immediately.
