Kaley chana काले चने are extremely healthy as they are low in fat and high in dietary fiber. Soak kale chole overnight and then pressure cook for 4-6 whistles. Once chickpeas or Kale Chole are thoroughly boiled and soft cook them in oil and mild spices. Kala Chana Masala is made by cooking boiled chickpeas in tomato gravy and spices. Kale Chana recipe is delicious and tasty. Kala Chana recipe can be accompanied by Poori, Steamed Rice or even Paranthas.

Kale Chane Ingrediants

Black chickpeas or kale chane - 1/2 Kg
(Soaked overnight and boiled)
Some whole spices:
Tej patta - 1
Laung 3-4
Cinnamon stick - 1
Tomato - 3-4 fresh puree
Green chili - 1
Red chili powder - 1/2 tsp
Hing powder - 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - 2 tsp or according to taste
Haldi powder - 1 tsp
Some fresh coriander leaves - finely chopped
Ginger paste - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 2 tsp
Oil - 2-3 Tbsp

Kale Chane Method:

Take a pan add oil and heat it.
Add whole spices and fry for a min.
Add hing powder, haldi powder and tomato puree.
Mix well and red chili powder, salt, ginger paste, cinnamon powder and green chili.
Mix well and cook for 5 mins.
In the mean while take 1 cup chane and grind it into smooth paste.
Take a bowl remove this paste and add little water to it.
Now strain this water and keep aside.

Now the tomato puree is cooked.
Add black chane to it.
Cook for 10 mins on medium flame with closed lid.
Now add all left water and cook for 15 mins more on high flame.
Add coriander leaves and mix well.
Add garam masala.
Mix well and close the flame .
Now your gravy style kale chane is ready to serve hot with chapattis or rice.
