Kenni Ke Pakode

Ingredients Quantity

Commelina/kenni leaves 1 bunch
Water as required + for batter
Besan 1 ½ cup
ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
White sesame seed 1 tbsp
Green chilli 2-3 nos
Ajwain 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Oil for frying
Chaat masala for sprinkling
Red chilli powder for sprinkling

Method :
1. Take a bunch of commelina leaves , removes its petals , and soak it into a bowl filled with water .
2. Now in another bowl , take besan , ginger garlic paste , white sesame seed , green chilli , ajwain , salt , turmeric , water whisk it well until no lumps formed , allow it to rest for 10-15 mins .
3. Meanwhile take a dry muslin cloth , remove and add petals over it and pat dry it .
4. Now keep an absorbent paper beneath the muslin cloth to remove the excess moistness .
5. Now whisk the batter after resting it for some while ,Simultaneously heat oil in a kadhai for frying .
6. Now take another absorbent paper , add commilena petals over it , pat dry it thoroughly .
7. Now dip the leaves into the batter , add it into the oil , allow it to fry until golden and crisp .
8. Remove it and strain it over an absorbent paper to remove the excess oil .
9. Now sprinkle chaat masala , red chilli powder over it .
10. Transfer it to serving plate .
11. Serve hot along with tomato ketchup .
