Listening to Our Skin with Keira Barr, M.D. - Is Yours Screaming Something Important? HPC: E30

Can you imagine diagnosing yourself with skin cancer? Dermatologist Dr. Keira Barr had that terrifying experience and it changed the way she listened to her skin - which she says had been screaming at her since her childhood to listen up.

In today's interview about skin health - which ends up being about our whole body health with our skin as the humble messenger - Dr. Barr tells us:

* How and why we should "listen" to our skin when it tries to tell us something
* Why we shouldn't be afraid of bacteria (the skin has its own in fact!)
* How the gut and skin are connected, and even more fascinating, how the BRAIN and skin are connected!
* Her top safe sun protection tips - which include sunscreen as the "LAST line of defense!"
* How we can care for our skin from the inside out both with food and mindset
* How she is raising confident teenagers (and you can too) with one simple empowering question
* Why her new focus as a dermatologist is on...sleep?
* And my final question, one practical thing parents can do for the health of their families today -- you'll just have to listen to the answer because she had to preface it with, "Do you want the PG version or not?" My face will give you a good belly laugh for the day! (But the advice is really solid and something *I* definitely did the very week we filmed this interview!!)
