Black eyed beans ground, mixed with some masalas, shaped into pakoras and deep-friedLOBIYA PAKORAIngredients1 cup black-eyed beans (lobiya), soaked overnight½ cup split Bengal gram (chana dal), soakedOil to deep fry1 cup chopped onions1 tbsp chopped ginger¼ tsp carom seeds (ajwain)¼ tsp asafoetida1 tbsp chana masala¼ tsp baking sodaSalt to taste1 tbsp green chilli sauce2 tbsps gram flour (besan)1 spring onion flowerMethod1. Drain and put black eyed beans in a chopper. Drain and add split gram and crush.2. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.3. Transfer the crushed mixture into a bowl. Add onions, ginger, carom seeds, asafoetida, chana masala, baking soda, salt, green chilli sauce and gram flour and mix well.4. Divide into small balls, press lightly, slide into hot oil and deep-fry till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. 5.
