The history of this French delicacy dates as early as 1891 to the restaurant of Monsieur Leopold Mourier located in Paris back then. The restaurant was situated close to the Theatre de la Porte Saint Martin where the PLAY 'THERMIDOR' was being performed by Artist Victorein Sardou.
The play in turn had taken its name from a summer month in French Republican Calender..which marked The Famous THERMODIAN REACTION or the movement of French Revolution.It is said that the dish got its name inspired from this particular play.
