Mango kootu is prepared with raw mango and toor dal. You can serve this kootu as a main dish to go with rice or serve it as a side dish for roti/chapathi. Ingredients:Mango-1Oil- 2 tspMustard seeds- 1/2 tspJeera - 1 tspGreen chillies- 3Curry leaves- For seasoningTurmeric powder- 1/2 tspSalt- 3/4 tspShredded coconut- 2 tspToordal- 1/2 cupMango kootu recipe:1. Pressure cook 1/2 cup Toordal for up-to 4 whistles. Mash it well and keep it ready.2. In a pan, heat 2 tsp oil. Add 1/2 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp Jeera and 3 green chillies. When Jeera turns brown, add mango pieces and sauté for a minute.3. Add 2 tsp channa dal, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder,1 tsp salt and 1 cup of water. Boil until the mango pieces are cooked.4. Now add mashed & cooked dal and 2 tsp shredded coconut to the gravy.
