This recipe is for days when you are super hungry and want to eat something simple and delicious. Masala buns are made with basic everyday ingredients and in minutes!

MASALA BUNS

Ingredients

8 buns (pavs)
1½ tablespoons oil
3 medium onions, sliced
3 medium tomatoes, sliced
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1½ teaspoons sugar
Ghee for basting
Fried smiley potatoes for serving

Method

1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add onions and sauté till golden brown. Add tomatoes and sauté on medium heat for 5 minutes or till soft and pulpy.
2. Add salt, chilli powder, garam masala powder and sugar, mix and cook for 2 minutes. Transfer in a bowl.
3. Heat a non-stick tawa.
4. Slit the buns with one side intact and stuff them with some onion mixture.
5. Place the stuffed buns on hot tawa and roast from both sides till golden brown basting with some ghee.
6. Serve hot with fried smiley potatoes.
