Masala idly | Gayathiri's Cookbook

This is a quick and easy recipe to use left over idlies.Idly is a popular breakfast item of south india. Eventhough it is healthy and nutritious, kids get bored of eating the same type.In that case, Masala idly is a perfect choice.You don't need any sidedish for this.

Ingredients:
Mini idlies- 14
Oil- 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
Onion-1
Tomatoes- 2
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Salt- As needed
Red chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder- 1 tsp
Coriander powder- 1 tsp
Garam masala powder- 1 tsp
Fennel powder- 1 tsp
Coriander leaves- For garnishing

Directions:
1.Heat oil in pan . Add mustard seeds. When it starts to crackle, add onions and saute until translucent.
2.Add tomatoes and cook until soft.
3. Add turmeric powder, salt,jeera powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, fennel powder and 1/2 cup water . Cook until the raw smell of the masalas goes away.
4.Now add the mini idlies and saute for 2 minutes. Switch off the heat.
Garnish with coriander leaves.

Masala idly is ready!!.
