"Mathri is everyone’s favorite snack. What if we tell you that you can make mathri at your home in few easy steps? Nothing beats the homemade mathri. Learn from Preetha as she takes you through the recipe of mathri and make it yourself at your home.

Ingredients to make mathri at home:
1 cup of maida (refined flour)
Hing (asafoetida) dissolved in water
Salt to taste
½ tsp of sesame seeds
½ tsp of cumin seeds
1 tsp of red chilli powder
A little flour
1 tbsp of ghee
1/3 tsp of baking soda
Oil
Water
Method:
1. In a mixing bowl add ghee and soda and cream it well to avoid any lumps.
2. Add refined flour to the bowl along with red chilli powder, black sesame seeds, salt, cumin seeds and hing dissolved in water.
3. Knead into a stiff dough by adding water slowly.
4. Rest the dough for half an hour.
5. Roll out a flat bread from the rested dough portions and cut it into the shapes of your choice.
6. Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown.
7. Store into air tight boxes or serve hot.
