I have selected this delectable recipe keeping in mind the limited ingredients we have in our pantry due to the lockdown. ‘Mung dal halwa’ is a very tasty and comforting sweet dish famous in North-India and traditionally enjoyed in Rajasthan. It is also prepared during festivals like Diwali and Holi in North India or during occasions like wedding. Ingredients:1 cup sugar1cup waterA pinch of cardamom powderSaffron strands(optional)1 cup mung dal1 cup ghee1tbsp besan1 tbsp semolinaNuts (almonds, cashew)Method:For the sugar syrup: 1cup sugar and 1 cup water, add cardamom powder, few saffron strands(optional)Soak 1 cup mung dal & grind with minimum water, Add 1 cup ghee in pan, 1tbsp besan, 1 tbsp semolina(suji), Saute it till it is roasted, add the grounded dal mixture.
