OATS AND METHI BHAJIYA

Ingredients

¼ cup oats
¼ medium bunch fresh fenugreek leaves (methi), chopped
½ cup gram flour (besan)
Oil for deep-frying
¼ medium cabbage, chopped
½ medium green capsicum, chopped
1-2 green chillies, crushed
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
½ teaspoon garam masala powder
Salt to taste
½ teaspoon baking soda
Chaat masala for sprinkling
Green chutney for serving
Tomato ketchup for serving

Method

1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
2. Take oats in a bowl. Add fenugreek leaves, cabbage, capsicum, gram flour and some water and mix to make a thick mixture.
3. Add green chillies, turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt and baking soda and mix well.
4. Drop in small portions of prepared mixture in hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
5. Sprinkle some chaat masala on top and serve hot with green chutney and tomato ketchup.
