Onepot Quick Rasam Satham using pressure cooker | Gayathiri's Cookbook

Rasam is a south Indian soup which most South Indian home makes on everyday basis.
There are different types of rasam recipes. It’s a good remedy for cold and cough.

Usually rice and rasam are separately made . But whenever there is short of time, You can make it quick using one pot.


Ingredients:
Oil- 2 teaspoon
Mustard seeds- 1 teaspoon
Hing- A pinch
Tomatoes- 2 or 3
Turmeric powder- 1 teaspoon
Salt- As needed
Rasam/ Sambar powder- 1..25 teaspoons
Cumin seeds- 1 teaspoon
Tamarind water(diluted)- 1.5 cups
Rice- 3/4 cup
Toordal- 2 tablespoons
Water- 4 cups
Curry leaves and coriander leaves- for garnishing

Directions:

1. Heat 2 teaspoon oil in cooker pot over medium flame.
2. Add mustard seeds and hing. Let them splutter.
3. Add tomatoes, turmeric powder, salt, rasam powder, cumin seeds, tamarind water, rice,toordal, water and curry leaves .
4. Close the lid and Pressure cook for 4-5 whistles.
5. After the pressure is down, open the lid. Mash it with a ladle.
6. Garnish with coriander leaves.

Rasam satham is ready!!
