Onion rings dipped in batter coated with breadcrumbs and cornflakes mixture and deep fried.ONION RINGSIngredients3-4 medium onions, cut into roundels, layers separated and soaked 1½ cups refined flour (maida)1 teaspoon coriander powder½ teaspoon garam masala powder1 teaspoon cumin powder 1 teaspoon red chilli powder Salt to taste ¼ cup fresh breadcrumbs ½ cup cornflakes1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves Oil for deep-fryingTomato ketchup for serving Mayonnaise for servingMethod1. Combine 1 cup flour, coriander powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder, chilli powder and salt in a bowl. Add some water and whisk to make a smooth and semi-thick batter. 2. Drain and pat-dry the onion rings using an absorbent paper. 3. Combine breadcrumbs, cornflakes, coriander leaves and salt in a bowl and crush the mixture. 4. Coat the onion rings with remaining flour, dip in the batter and coat with the cornflakes-breadcrumbs mixture. Place on a plate and refrigerate for 30-40 minutes. 5. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Put the onion rings and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.6.
