Peanut Chutney /Nilakadalai Chutney/Groundnut chutney | Gayathiri's Cookbook

Peanut/Groundnut chutney is a delicious and nutritious accompaniment for all south indian tiffin varieties like idly, dosa, pongal, vada etc.It is made with peanuts, red chillies, garlic and coconut.

Ingredients:
Peanuts- 1 cup
Shredded coconut- 1/2 cup
Garlic cloves- 5
Red chillies- 5
Tamarind- A small piece
Oil- 2 tsp
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
Uraddal- 1/2 tsp
Channadal- 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves- As needed
Hing- A pinch

Directions:
1.Heat a tsp of oil in a pan. Saute garlic, peanuts and red chillies until the raw smell od the peanuts goes away.
2.Add coconut and tamarind to this roasted peanuts and grind it into fine paste.
3.Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds. When it starts to crackle, add channadal, uraddal, hing and curry leaves and saute until dal turns golden brown.Then add this seasoning to the chutney.

Peanut chutney is ready!!
