Rajma Masala - Instant pot method | Gayathiri's Cookbook

Rajma or red kidney beans are cooked in a onion tomato gravy and seasoned with all garam masala items.It can be served with rice or roti.

Ingredients:
Oil- 2 tbsp
Jeera- 1 tsp
Green chillies- 2
Ginger garlic paste- 1.5 tsp
Onion-1
Tomatoes- 3
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Salt- 3/4- 1 tsp
Sugar- 1 tsp
Jeera powder- 1 tsp
Coriander powder- 1 tsp
Garam masala powder- 1 tsp
Red chilli powder- 1 tsp

Directions:
1. Soak rajma beans overnight or soak it in hot water for 3 hours.
2.Keep the instant pot on sauté mode.
3. Heat 2 tsp oil. Add jeera, Grren chillies, Ginger garlic paste and onion. Sauté until translucent.
4.Add tomatoes and cook until soft.
5. Then add turmeric powder, Salt, sugar, Jeera powder, coriander powder, Red chilli powder and garam masala powder.Mix everything well.
6.Add soaked beans and 2.5 cups water. Give it a stir.Close the lid with the pressure valve in sealing position.
7. Change the settings from Saute to Bean/chilli mode for 30 minutes.
Let the pressure release naturally.
8. To make it thick, grind some of the cooked beans into a paste , and then add it to the gravy.You can do this on sauté/warm mode.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
