Super healthy recipe of dal made using whole red lentils. A must try !SABUT MASOOR KI DALIngredients1 cup whole red lentil (sabut masoor dal), soaked for 6-8 hoursSalt to taste1 inch ginger, finely chopped2 tablespoons oil 1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)2 bay leaves1 medium tomato, finely chopped1 teaspoon red chilli powder½ teaspoon garam masala powder1 teaspoon coriander powder2-3 green chillies, slitChopped fresh coriander leaves for garnishingSteamed Basmati rice for servingMethod1. Pressure cook dal in 3 cups water alongwith salt and ginger till 3 whistles are released. Open when the pressure is released completely. 2. Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and when it changes colour, add bay leaves and tomatoes and sauté for 1-2 minutes on high heat or till tomato turns soft and pulpy. 3. Add salt, chilli powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder and green chillies and sauté for 1 minute.4. Add dal and 1 cup water, mix and cook on medium heat for 5-8 minutes.5.
