SINGAPORE HAWKER FOOD Mei Mei Roast () 1st Stop Food Junction

Stall owner of Mei Mei Roast, Ms Lee, worked at Kay Lee Roast Meat for 15 years before started her roast business on her own. The business has been established for 20 years in an industrial area, in a coffeeshop. The name of the business comes from Ms Lee's nickname, Mei Mei, meaning "little sister", that people always fondly call her by.

The meat roasting business was not typically undertaken by females, so when Ms Lee first started out, she faced much rejection from the people around her. However, she was not daunted, and persevered on, till this day.

Ms Lees roast meats are roasted till the best degree. Churned out using red, hot charcoal from a huge furnace, Char Siew, Roast pork and duck come out, dripping with marinade and juices. The flavour and texture of the meats are hard to describe in words, one needs to head down to taste!
