Siopao Asado or bāozi refers to steamed buns with sweet asado pork inside. This dish was introduced by the Chinese and has been a favorite among Filipinos eversince. Aside from siopao asado, another famous siopao version is called siopao bola-bola wherein the bun is stuffed with a ground pork mixture shaped like a ball.

Siopao is often sold warm in panciterias and mamihan. This is often eaten with beef or chicken mami. A delicious siopao sauce makes siopao tastes even better.

Siopao and its similar varities are known as: Mandarin roll, Mantı, 燒包, Pe̍h-ōe-jī, Mántóu, sio-pau, Bánh bao, Nikuman
