Today, well be making a popular snack and breakfast item amongst the Chinese community in Singapore. Chwee Kueh is loosely translated as watery rice cake. The kueh (pastry part) is made mostly using rice flour, and it is served with chye poh (preserved sweet turnips) on the top. Take note that youll need to have moulds to shape the batter for the kueh cupcake moulds would work too.

Serve your chwee kueh with a generous portion of chye poh and sambal chilli for a Singapore breakfast experience at home!

Ingredients here
150g Chye Poh (preserved sweet turnips)
cup oil
30g minced garlic
60g minced shallots
2 tbsp sugar
tsp white pepper
tbsp dark soy sauce

Batter:
150g rice flour
20g wheat flour
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp oil
400ml water
400ml boiling water
