Mai Chun in northern Thailand is where they grow Phulae Pineapples, a small sweet variety that is so good to eat. They are grown in the mountain areas, harvested and taken to the village for processing and shipping to markets. This is a village affair where most households grow and harvest pineapples, sort of like a small collective. A large proportion of product is iced down and sent by road into China which is not that far away.
