INGREDIENTS:

1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons packed dark brown sugar
2 ounces pecan halves (1/2 cup)
1 cup quick-cooking oats
1/2 cup barley flour
1/2 cup all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt
10 tablespoons (1 1/4 sticks) cold unsalted butter, cut into pieces
2 to 4 tablespoons ice water
2 to 3 tablespoons heavy cream, as needed for brushing
3 to 4 tablespoons granulated sugar, as needed, for sprinkling
